Drawing on decades of combined operational and technical experience, the team develops advanced, adaptable simulators purpose-built for real-world law enforcement training.

Launched in January 2025, Peerless VR was founded by the original team behind

Apex Officer, a pioneering platform that helped define virtual reality training for law enforcement.

Building on that foundation, Peerless VR advances the technology, realism, and capability of immersive training beyond anything else currently available in the market. United by a shared vision and zero tolerance for mediocrity, the team set out to raise the standard for immersive law enforcement training once again.

TJ Dishaw

TJ Dishaw is the CEO of Peerless VR, a U.S.-based company building the most advanced virtual reality training simulators for law enforcement. After dropping out of Michigan State University, at just 22 years old, TJ conceived and built Apex Officer, the world’s first VR law enforcement training simulator, establishing a new category of simulator training, and forcing other vendors to actually innovate.

Now at Peerless VR, TJ leads product vision and engineering with a focus on solving real-world training problems, not delivering scripted experiences. His work emphasizes trainer control, provoking critical trainee decision-making, and systems that can adapt immediately to changing policy and curriculum. TJ’s mission is to make cutting-edge training technology accessible to agencies of all sizes and revolutionize how law enforcement training is designed and delivered.

John Creighton

John Creighton is Vice President of Sales at Peerless VR, where he leads go-to-market strategy for the most advanced virtual reality training platform in law enforcement. With decades of experience driving growth around technology-led solutions, including his role in scaling the original Apex Officer platform, John brings a proven ability to introduce innovative training technology into demanding, highly regulated agency environments.

At Peerless VR, John leads sales strategy and customer engagement, applying lessons learned from Apex Officer to help agencies evaluate how advanced systems fit into real operations, budgets, and long-term planning. He works closely with engineering and leadership to ensure the platform evolves alongside agency requirements, and is driven by helping departments adopt tools they can trust, deploy effectively, and adapt as policies, tactics, and expectations continue to change.

Steve Nelson

Steve Nelson is Vice President of Training Solutions at Peerless VR, where he leads national efforts to help law enforcement agencies design, deploy, and continuously evolve simulator-based training tailored to real-world encounters and specialized operational roles. A 25-year law enforcement veteran and recognized training leader, Steve was the first professional in the industry to pioneer the use of Apex Officer VR simulators for police training.

At Peerless VR, Steve shapes training philosophy, scenario design, and agency partnerships, drawing on decades of experience building, implementing, and evaluating high-stakes operational programs. Deeply committed to officer safety, professional excellence, and credibility, Steve ensures the platform delivers ultra-realistic, adaptable training backed by measurable outcomes that agencies can trust as policing, technology, and expectations continue to evolve.

Mike Howard

Mike Howard is Vice President of Strategy at Peerless VR, where he supports company-wide growth initiatives and works alongside the CEO and executive team to strengthen product, sales, and market execution. He brings 25 years of experience across all facets of law enforcement, providing a command-level understanding of agency leadership, operations, and the realities that shape training and technology adoption.

At Peerless VR, Mike contributes across strategy, customer engagement, and internal alignment, applying his background in policy, supervision, and training execution to ensure decisions are grounded in real-world agency constraints. He is driven by improving officer readiness and safety through training solutions that are credible, practical, and built to deliver measurable results in the field, not just compelling demonstrations.
